| Part | Time | Marks | Content |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 – Paper 1 content | 42 min | about 30 | 9 multiple-choice + structured questions on measurement, mechanics, materials, electricity, waves, quantum and particle physics, circular motion and SHM |
| 2 – Paper 2 content | 42 min | about 30 | 9 multiple-choice + structured questions on thermal physics, gases, gravitational and electric fields, capacitors, magnetism and induction, nuclear physics |
| 3 – Practical skills and extensions | 42 min | about 28 | Practical and data analysis (uncertainties, graphs, method evaluation) plus short questions on astrophysics and cosmology, medical imaging and one option topic |
Aim for about 1.4 minutes per mark. For each 9-question multiple-choice block, allow about 12 minutes and move on if you are stuck. Come back at the end.
