Every living thing needs food. Here are two groups: living things that make their own food, and living things that must eat food.
The tree and the sunflower are plants. Plants make their own food in their leaves.
The rabbit, the cow and the child are animals. Animals cannot make their own food, so they must eat it.
Humans are animals too. Food gives us nutrition: everything our bodies need to grow, move and stay healthy.
