Try a lesson now
This is “Numbers to 1,000”, the first lesson in Maths. Turn your sound on: Budlet reads it out.
How it works
Every topic follows the same three steps, so your child always knows what comes next.
1Watch
A short animated lesson for each topic. Budlet reads every line while the picture moves in step, with little “your turn” checks along the way.
What's covered
Pick a year to see what your child will meet. Each year builds on the one before.
When your child gets stuck
A wrong answer starts a short, kind loop that finds the slip and fixes it.
1. Not yet
A wrong answer is never shown in red. Budlet says “Not yet, let’s look together”.
2. Show me why
The right answer, a reason aimed at the slip your child made, and the picture worked out.
3. Try one like it
A similar question straight away, so the fix sticks. It doesn’t count towards the daily limit.
4. Training
After a few misses on a topic: the lesson taught a different way, 3 easy ones in a row, then 2 trickier ones.
Papers and scores
Your child takes papers in their Papers tab, one question per screen, with a gentle timer you can switch off.
Results give an approximate scaled score from 80 to 120, where 100 means the expected standard. Every question is tapped or typed, so there is no drawing or written explaining.
Read the guides for parentsSafe by design
Settings, prices and progress sit behind a grown-ups lock. Your child only ever sees lessons and games.
No ads
Nothing to buy and nothing to click away to.
No chat or social
No messages, friends lists or leaderboards.
No AI chat
Nothing is made up on the spot: every lesson and question is prepared in advance and answer-checked.
For parents
5 min read
What is tested at the end of Year 6, when, who marks it, why writing and science are teacher assessed, and what the results are and are not used for.
5 min read
Why 100 means the expected standard and 110 a high score, what N means, how the raw marks needed moved in 2024 to 2026, and how Courselo estimates a scaled score from a practice paper.
Questions
No. They are practice papers in the style of the real tests, with the same timings, marks and question styles. Every question is marked automatically, so questions that need a written method, an explanation or a drawing become multiple choice, ordering or a typed answer. The scaled scores shown are approximate: a guide, not a prediction.
Plans
Your child never sees prices or upgrade buttons. When the free questions run out, they see “come back tomorrow” and can still watch lessons.

Quick question games that adapt as your child answers: easier when it's new, trickier as they get it. Each topic earns up to three stars.
3Practise until secure
Tricky topics come back on later days, and a topic that needs more help gets training: a fresh way to learn it, then easy questions, then a step up.
No losing, ever

Clear British or American computer voices. No microphone or camera, and nothing of your child is recorded.

The daily timetable for test week, what to say the night before, access arrangements and how to ask the school, and what arrives in July.

Picking the year group, how a lesson, its checks and the practice set fit together, what the stars mean, and a gentle ten-minutes-a-day routine from Year 3 to Year 6.
Choose the year your child is in at school. Topics build up through the key stage, so a Year 5 child sees everything from Years 3, 4 and 5 and a Year 6 child sees everything the SATs can ask. You can change the year group at any time from the grown-ups area.
Each account has one learner, so the practice adapts to one child and the record of what has been learned stays theirs. A brother or sister needs their own account.
Lessons and questions can be read aloud with the voice already on your device (phone, tablet or computer), so nothing is recorded or sent anywhere. Reading comprehension texts and questions are never read aloud, because reading them is the point.
The child area never asks for or shows a child’s name, has no adverts, no chat, no videos and no AI. It is lessons, checks, practice and papers, nothing else.
Each topic earns up to three stars: one for Working towards (the lesson is watched or the first questions answered), two for the Expected standard and three for Greater depth, which means the child is answering the hardest questions on that topic reliably. Stars are never taken away: once earned, a star stays, even if a later practice goes badly.
It is a short on-screen check in June of Year 4: 25 questions from the 2 to 12 times tables with 6 seconds to answer each. There is no pass mark; the school receives a mark out of 25 and the teacher shares it with you. The practice here uses the same timing and shows the same kind of mark.
Schools see their results in early July and parents receive them by the end of the summer term, as a scaled score for each subject with whether the expected standard was met. Secondary school places are offered in March, before the tests, so the results do not decide where your child goes next. They are used to report on the school, and the school passes them on to your child’s secondary school.
