Synthesis thesis and line of reasoning

By the end you’ll be able to

• Write a defensible thesis that takes a clear position on the specific issue in the prompt, not a summary of the sources or a restatement of the question
• Build a line of reasoning of two to four claims, each organised around an idea rather than around a single source
• Place a qualification or counterpoint where it strengthens the position
