Numerical methods and iteration

By the end you’ll be able to

• Locate approximate roots of equations by change of sign or graphical methods.
• Apply fixed-point iteration using a rearrangement of an equation.
• Determine an interval containing a root and refine approximations using an iterative numerical method such as the Newton-Raphson method where specified by the route.
• Use iteration to a stated degree of accuracy or number of decimal places.
