Hypothesis testing

By the end you’ll be able to

• State null and alternative hypotheses correctly using population parameters and define one-tailed or two-tailed tests where appropriate.
• Use a significance level to determine a critical region or calculate a p-value for a test statistic under the null hypothesis.
• Carry out a hypothesis test for a binomial model or other specified distributional model and decide whether to reject the null hypothesis.
