- NSW Advanced and Standard: Paper 1 Texts and Human Experiences (1.5 h + 10 min reading, 40 marks: Section I short answers on unseen texts 20, Section II extended response 20) and Paper 2 Modules A-C (2 h + 5 min reading, 60 marks: 20 per module); VIC English: 3 h (+15 min reading), 60 marks across Section A analytical response to a text, Section B creating a text (Framework of Ideas) and Section C analysis of argument and language, 50% of study score.
- QLD: external exam worth 25% (extended analytical response; timing unverified); WA ATAR: about 3 h exam with comprehending, responding and composing sections (unverified).
- SA English: external assessment is a Comparative Analysis (30%), not an exam; TAS Level 3: 3 h written exam; ACT school-assessed.
