The format, as published

  • NSW Mathematics Advanced: one 3 h HSC exam (+10 min reading), 100 marks: Section I 10 multiple-choice (10 marks) and Section II 90 marks of short and extended responses (2025 HSC paper).
  • VIC: Exam 1 (1 h + 15 min reading, no technology or notes, 40 marks, 20% of study score) and Exam 2 (2 h + 15 min reading, CAS allowed, Section A 20 MC + Section B 60 marks, 40%); study score 0–50.
  • QLD: external assessment worth 50% split into Paper 1 technology-free and Paper 2 technology-active (about 90 min each, unverified for the 2025 syllabus) plus three internal assessments.
  • WA ATAR: exam worth 50% with Section One calculator-free and Section Two calculator-assumed (typically 5 + 50 min and 10 + 100 min; unverified for 2026).
  • SA: 130-minute exam (2 November 2026) worth 30% plus 70% school assessment.
  • TAS Level 4: 3 h written exam; final awards EA/HA/CA/SA/PA/NA.
  • ACT: school-assessed only, no external subject exam (course scores scaled with the AST).
