The format, as published
- Three papers, about 1 h 40 min in total.
- Reading and Writing is 60 min, 7 parts and 32 questions, worth 50% (Writing includes a short email and a 35+ word picture story).
- Listening is about 30 min including 6 min transfer time, 5 parts and 25 questions, with each recording heard twice, worth 25%.
- Speaking is 8–10 min per pair in 2 parts, worth 25%.
- Results are on the Cambridge English Scale 100–150: Grade A 140–150 (B1), Grade B 133–139, Grade C 120–132 (A2), and A1 for 100–119.
- Since the June 2026 session, A2 Key (general version) is digital-only (on computer at a centre); A2 Key for Schools is still available on paper or on computer.
- The format is identical in both modes.
