The format, as published

  • New specification (first exam 2027): a written exam (60%) plus an AAC, the Biology in Practice investigation (40%), briefed by the SEC in January of 6th Year.
  • The old syllabus had a single 3-hour, 400-mark paper with mandatory experiments.
  • Graded H1-H8 (Higher) / O1-O8 (Ordinary); results convert to CAO points (H1 = 100).
