The format, as published

  • At Higher level: oral (Béaltriail, 240 of 600 marks = 40%, taken around Easter, including the Sraith Pictiúr picture sequences), aural (60 marks), Paper 1 composition (100 marks) and Paper 2 reading comprehension, prose and poetry (200 marks).
  • Ordinary follows a similar structure.
  • Foundation is a separate, simpler paper.
  • Graded H1-H8 (Higher) / O1-O8 (Ordinary); results convert to CAO points (H1 = 100).
