The format, as published
- Paper-based, one 3-hour session covering 8 texts (up to about 6,000 words).
- Part 1 (suggested 45–60 min): 3 texts (one literary, one poem, one nonfiction; about 2,600 words), 24 multiple-choice questions.
- Part 2 (60–75 min): argument essay citing at least 3 of 4 informational sources (about 2,400 words), 6-point rubric x4 weighting.
- Part 3 (30–45 min): text-analysis response of at least 2 paragraphs on one text of about 1,000 words, 4-point rubric x2.
- Maximum weighted credits 24+24+8=56, converted to a 0–100 scale score (65 = pass).
- Performance levels 1–5.
