The format, as published
- From session 2026–27 (first examined in the 2027 diet): N5 single question paper 80 marks / 2 h (section 1 MC 20 + section 2 60; was 100 marks / 2 h 30 min); Higher Papers 1 and 2 merged into one 100-mark / 2 h 30 min paper (MC 20 + restricted/extended 80); AH 85 marks / 2 h 30 min (was 100 marks / 3 h).
- Plus an assignment (N5/Higher, 20 marks) and a project (AH, 30 marks scaled to 37).
- Graded A-D or No Award; paper-based exams in the Apr-Jun diet (2027 diet 26 Apr-3 Jun, results day 10 Aug 2027; 2026 diet ran 22 Apr-2 Jun).
