Equipment and Check-In
The AP Statistics exam is administered in the afternoon session and takes 3 hours of testing time entirely inside the Bluebook app. Eliminate friction before the clock starts by verifying your hardware and materials the night before.
What to Bring
- Testing device and charger: If you are using a school-managed or personal laptop or tablet, bring it fully charged along with its power cord. Confirm that Bluebook is updated to the latest version.
- Approved graphing calculator: You are allowed up to two approved handheld graphing calculators with statistical capabilities. Check that batteries are fresh or the battery is at 100%.
- Pencils and pens: For working on the proctor-supplied scratch paper.
- Photo ID: Required if you are testing at a school you do not regularly attend.
What the Testing Room Provides
- Printed formula sheet and tables booklet: You receive a physical copy of the official formula sheet and Tables A (), B (), and C (), in addition to the digital reference menu inside Bluebook. Keep the physical booklet open on your desk so you do not lose screen space.
- Scratch paper: The proctor will distribute scratch paper before the test starts. You can request additional sheets at any time by raising your hand.
- Codes from the proctor: You sign in to Bluebook with your own College Board account and enter the room code the proctor writes on the board; the proctor gives the start code when it is time to begin.
The 3-Hour Timeline and Pacing Plan
Each section is 90 minutes and accounts for 50% of your composite score. Using Courselo’s estimated curve—where a weighted composite of about 70% earns a 5 (aim for 78%+ on mocks for a secure 5), 57% earns a 4, and 44% earns a 3—every minute translates directly into points.
